Disney has put a fully featured remote controlled WALL•E up for pre-orders today. This is definitely something I would LOVE to get, since it does contain some cool AI functions. You can tell it to follow you, or to go explore - and he will do just that making it not just as any other remotely controlled toy. My cat will love it for sure!

One thing bothers me, and that’s what’s written under Additional Information box:

WARNING: This product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer, or birth defects or other reproductive harm.

What a fart is all this about? What chemical is it? All these toys lately made in China are becoming way too dangerous, or in reality, they were always dangerous but lately we are at least (vaguely) informed of the dangers they bring.

I guess at least it is not Radioactive (or is it?), like the Glowing Lanyards a Japanese couple was arrested for selling… [read here]

If you still want it, it’s available now at Disney store for preorder for $249 bucks.

Does anyone know what the chemical is? It might be something miniscule but still I’d like to know ;)

clickapostLogoWhite A couple of months ago I invited a bunch of people for an internal beta test of a new project I created for my clients called ClickaPost. Today I am proud to invite many more of you to our first Public Beta. Don’t let the "beta" in the name confuse you. The site is very much ready for public, beta only means a lot more cool things are coming very soon!

What is ClickaPost anyway?

It is an on-line classifieds system, similar to Craig’s List and in some ways to eBay, but with a twist. It is really pretty, free to use, and you may include both pictures and videos with your posts. People can leave comments about your post and if they wish to talk a bit more about it - we provide an integrated Forum for this! All forum posts can be easily linked to "ClickaPosts" so everyone always knows what you’re talking about.

While you can upload your own videos directly, if you already have them somewhere else on the Internet (say YouTube, Blip.TV, WellcomeMat, MetaCafe, etc.) you can easily embed them into your posts.

What can you post?

Pretty much anything! We separated over 400 different subcategories into the following 9 categories: For Sale, Vehicles, Services, Community Events, Real Estate, Personals, Jobs, Resumes and Wanted.

If you are selling a laptop or looking for one, getting rid of some old books, looking for a babysitter, organizing a community event, or simply looking for a job - ClickaPost.com is a place for you.

What now?

Head over to ClickaPost.com and register. If you already registered while we were in private beta - your account is still there so you may simply log in!

If you like what you see please tell your friends and family.

If you need help - just reply to this post and I’ll help you out with anything.

If you have any feedback - we’re all ears. Especially now ;)

Note on web browser compatibility…

While in beta, ClickaPost is best viewed using either FireFox or Internet Explorer 7. Support for Internet Explorer 6 is coming very soon! If you do not have FireFox installed, you can get it for free. FireFox 3 has just launched today and it is by far the best and fastest web browser ever made!
You may download it at the following address:
http://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-3.0&os=win&lang=en-US

P.S>
ClickaPost.com is a project I developed for my clients from New York.

Tips for Yahoo! on how to negotiate Microsoft deal :)

You’ve probably heard that Microsoft offered $46 billion for buying Yahoo!. I bet people at Yahoo! are thinking about this quite seriously, even though it most likely won’t happen. While US might not do anything to stop it, European Union is all over this.

Why Microsoft wants Yahoo? Simply because, even with tens of thousands of employees they have, no one can create a good search engine. Their Live Search is struggling! Yahoo on the other side - can find stuff - and besides Google, is the only other big player in the Search Engine business. SE is a money making machine through ads - that’s the whole point behind the idea.

Now, for our laughs, and for Yahoo execs trying to keep their cool, here are some tips. The guy actually makes sense too :)

AnaLast night Sali and I watched Australian Open Finals and a very nice game between Ana Ivanovic and Maria Sharapova.

This was a fun game to watch. I, of course, love Ana and was cheering like crazy for her to win, and Sali - being a good Russian girl she is - was cheering for her Maria :)

Ana lost, but it’s all right. She is getting better and better with every match she plays. She is going to be #1 this year I am sure of it! Ana, if you can hear: YOU CAN DO IT :) [and you know it]

Oh, also, even though I do not care much about men’s tennis, Federer “got SERBED” HAHAAHAHA - Go Djokovic! It’d be great to see him win the Australian Open!

This new year (2008), got off to a very strong start for me. I’m being quite busy with current projects. Clickapost.com is almost ready for the first public beta and ACI is requiring some upgrades to the Grants Administration system I created for them.

While all this is great, I wish I had some more time for writing on my blogs. This one in particular since for many people it’s the only source of information about me :). Sorry guys, phone and emails are swamped with work-related stuff that I cannot even make it through to read all of other emails I get :)

Other blogs are suffering too though; I just started the NeedToKnowBlog.com and I already do not have enough time to write the articles. I guess after some time it will live up, but for now - it’s slow.

I did have time to write a nice little review of MacBook Air. I was sincerely looking forward to a new Apple notebook and I had no idea what disappointment I was going into while watching the Keynote this year. Dammit Apple! At least the stock price is back where it belongs: $130… with this kind of product, you really do not deserve $200 - at least not know.

Hopefully next year brings us a Real MacBook Air (Take 2), with FireWire, faster drives, ExpressCard, etc… Then, maybe, I’ll buy it - for now - MacBook Pro is the Law as they would say in my country ;) [zakon ;)]

Cheers!

needtoknow The other day while I was in the shower (where I usually get crazy ideas, especially the ones that involve buying another domain name), I decided to create another blog which will provide everyone with information about the best stuff on the Internet.

Over there, you will find links and blog posts about the best of the best. From on-line shopping, to gadgets, to tutorial sites: I will cover every single aspect and provide the visitors with the tips, links and more information. No more need to search around!

Also, I will use it to explain the basic things most newcomers to the On-line world should know, from choosing an email address, to what blogs are, how to create your own blog, what RSS feeds are, and more… It should be a great source of information for all, especially the elderly who wish to learn more :)

Head over to NeedToKnowBlog.com and check it out…

If you are interested in a bunch of medical stuff, my lovely Sali has a blog of her own @ EasilyForgotten.info ;)

Ah, the moment I started typing the title a little figurine of Penguin fall of the top of my iMac screen; therefore, resolutions will start with a new first item:

  1. Paste the penguin figurine to the top of the iMac so it does not fall anymore :)
  2. Go to bed earlier and wake up earlier … (this seems to work already, went to sleep at 11pm, woke up at 5:30am today, yes!)
  3. Follow the work schedule so you can have time for personal projects AND social life
  4. Get out of that chair from time to time
  5. Take the midday breaks, walk around, do banking, go to the store, etc.
  6. Workout on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and walk with Sali on Tuesdays and Thursdays
  7. Sell all the junk you do not need on eBay
  8. GOTO 1 = Follow the Resolutions!

Happy New Year!

wacom If I was not an information freak as I am, and if I never new about a blog called Gizmodo, I’d be $1000 bucks richer now :)

For a long time now I’ve been wanting to get a product from Wacom. At first I was always thinking about one of those "blind" tablets, where you use the pen on the tablet surface, but you look at another display. These are usually around $200-$300 bucks.

The other day I was browsing through Gizmodo.com and Jesus Diaz did an Amazing review of Wacom’s Cintiq 12WX LCD Pen Tablet. This is not one of those blind ones, but rather it’s quite similar to the tablet PC’s since in fact it has a display on which you move the pen and draw in Photoshop, paint in Corel, or write documents in MS One Note.

I am not going to write more about the tablet, since you can obviously go and read his review on Giz, but I will just say this: Combined with Windows Vista’s Tablet PC functionality, this Tablet will make your life 10 times more fun and more natural. It’s VERY easy to use and it’s great for EVERYONE: Pros and novices alike. While I use it for day to day surfing (instead of the mouse), writing and web development, my girlfriend is using it for Photo Retouching. It’s simply amazing!
